1. What is it?

Natal Stumpnose can be found in shallow coastal waters along South Africa's coast from the Southern Cape to KwaZulu-Natal, as well as in the waters around Madagascar. Only recreational fishermen with a special permit may catch Natal stumpnose, but no-one in South Africa is allowed to sell the species.

2. How was it caught or farmed?

Only recreational fishers with a special permit may catch Natal stumpnose following a daily bag (5 pp/pd) and minimum size (25 cm) limit. They are not allowed to sell their catches.

3. Where is it from?

Natal stumpnose are found along the coast of South Africa from the Southern Cape to KwaZulu-Natal as well as the waters of Madagascar. Due to its no-sale status, management consists of monitoring and permit enforcement on a local scale.
